And thou saidst in thy heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; and I will sit upon the mount of congregation, in the uttermost parts of the north;

For there shall be a day of Jehovah of hosts upon all that is proud and haughty, and upon all that is lifted up; and it shall be brought low;

Remember not against us the iniquities of our forefathers:\par\tab Let thy tender mercies speedily meet us;\par\tab For we are brought very low.

For thou hast made of a city a heap, of a fortified city a ruin, a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built.

The Lord hath swallowed up all the habitations of Jacob, and hath not pitied:\par\tab He hath thrown down in his wrath the strongholds of the daughter of Judah;\par\tab He hath brought them down to the ground; he hath profaned the kingdom and the princes thereof.

With the hoofs of his horses shall he tread down all thy streets; he shall slay thy people with the sword; and the pillars of thy strength shall go down to the ground.

The waste city is broken down; every house is shut up, that no man may come in.

Thy heart was lifted up because of thy beauty; thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I have cast thee to the ground; I have laid thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
