And they have not cried unto me with their heart, but they howl upon their beds: they assemble themselves for grain and new wine; they rebel against me.

and they shall look unto the earth, and behold, distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish; and into thick darkness {\i they shall be} driven away.\par

{\i When} our oxen are well laden;\par\tab {\i When there is} no breaking in, and no going forth,\par\tab And no outcry in our streets:

Judah mourneth, and the gates thereof languish, they sit in black upon the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.

The nations have heard of thy shame, and the earth is full of thy cry; for the mighty man hath stumbled against the mighty, they are fallen both of them together.\par

The vine is withered, and the fig-tree languisheth; the pomegranate-tree, the palm-tree also, and the apple-tree, even all the trees of the field are withered: for joy is withered away from the sons of men.\par

For days beyond a year shall ye be troubled, ye careless women; for the vintage shall fail, the ingathering shall not come.
