The burden of Moab.\par\tab For in a night Ar of Moab is laid waste, {\i and} brought to nought; for in a night Kir of Moab is laid waste, {\i and} brought to nought.

And they shall fly down upon the shoulder of the Philistines on the west; together shall they despoil the children of the east: they shall put forth their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.

For a fire is gone out of Heshbon, A flame from the city of Sihon: It hath devoured Ar of Moab, The lords of the high places of the Arnon.

For in this mountain will the hand of Jehovah rest; and Moab shall be trodden down in his place, even as straw is trodden down in the water of the dung-hill.

Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that have the corners {\i of their hair} cut off, that dwell in the wilderness; for all the nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in heart.\par

The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.\par

And they beat down the cities; and on every good piece of land they cast every man his stone, and filled it; and they stopped all the fountains of water, and felled all the good trees, until in Kir-hareseth only they left the stones thereof; howbeit the slingers went about it, and smote it.

Thou art this day to pass over Ar, the border of Moab:

And Jehovah said unto me, Vex not Moab, neither contend with them in battle; for I will not give thee of his land for a possession; because I have given Ar unto the children of Lot for a possession.

And the high fortress of thy walls hath he brought down, laid low, and brought to the ground, even to the dust.\par

and when thou comest nigh over against the children of Ammon, vex them not, nor contend with them; for I will not give thee of the land of the children of Ammon for a possession; because I have given it unto the children of Lot for a possession.

We have heard of the pride of Moab, {\i that} he is very proud; even of his arrogancy, and his pride, and his wrath; his boastings are nought.
