As for the sacrifices of mine offerings, they sacrifice flesh and eat it; but Jehovah accepteth them not: now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins; they shall return to Egypt.

For, lo, they are gone away from destruction; {\i yet} Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them; their pleasant things of silver, nettles shall possess them; thorns shall be in their tents.

Jehovah hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works.

Yea, though ye offer me your burnt-offerings and meal-offerings, I will not accept them; neither will I regard the peace-offerings of your fat beasts.

What unto me is the multitude of your sacrifices? saith Jehovah: I have had enough of the burnt-offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he-goats.

And Jehovah will bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I said unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall sell yourselves unto your enemies for bondmen and for bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.

And the great city was divided into into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and Babylon the great was remembered in the sight of God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

For he that eateth and drinketh, eateth and drinketh judgment unto himself, if he discern not the body.

When therefore ye assemble yourselves together, it is not possible to eat the Lord's supper:

Is Gilead iniquity? they are altogether false; in Gilgal they sacrifice bullocks; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the field.

They return, but not to {\i him that is} on high; they are like a deceitful bow; their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.\par

And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now have their own doings beset them about; they are before my face.

And it shall be, like people, like priest; and I will punish them for their ways, and will requite them their doings.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination:\par\tab How much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind!

And Samuel said, Hath Jehovah as great delight in burnt-offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of Jehovah? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

And now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine angel shall go before thee; nevertheless in the day when I visit, I will visit their sin upon them.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

But there is nothing covered up, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

Wherefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall each man have his praise from God.\par

To what purpose cometh there to me frankincense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt-offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices pleasing unto me.

And it shall be no more the confidence of the house of Israel, bringing iniquity to remembrance, when they turn to look after them: and they shall know that I am the Lord Jehovah.\par

And Ephraim is like a silly dove, without understanding: they call unto Egypt, they go to Assyria.

The days of visitation are come, the days of recompense are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the man that hath the spirit is mad, for the abundance of thine iniquity, and because the enmity is great.

For I desire goodness, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt-offerings.

You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will visit upon you all your iniquities.
