It was necessary therefore that the copies of the things in the heavens should be cleansed with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish unto God, cleanse our conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

For Christ entered not into a holy place made with hands, like in pattern to the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear before the face of God for us:

who serve {\i that which is} a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, even as Moses is warned {\i of God} when he is about to make the tabernacle: for, {\b See,} saith he, {\b thou shalt make all things according to the pattern that was showed thee in the mount.}

And they sing a new song, saying,\par\tab Worthy art thou to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and didst purchase unto God with thy blood men of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation,

which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ's.

and he said unto them, {\cf6 Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead the third day;

Behooved it not the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into his glory?}

For the law having a shadow of the good {\i things} to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect them that draw nigh.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I come again, and will receive you unto myself; that where I am, {\i there} ye may be also.

Now therefore do ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you, as though ye would judge of his case more exactly: and we, before he comes near, are ready to slay him.
