who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before times eternal,
But ye are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for {\i God's} own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
Wherefore it behooved him in all things to be made like unto his brethren, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
exhorting you, and encouraging {\i you}, and testifying, to the end that ye should walk worthily of God, who calleth you into his own kingdom and glory.\par
Fight the good fight of the faith, lay hold on the life eternal, whereunto thou wast called, and didst confess the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.
For I say that Christ hath been made a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, that he might confirm the promises {\i given} unto the fathers,
And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but let them serve them the rather, because they that partake of the benefit are believing and beloved. These things teach and exhort.\par
To which end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfil every desire of goodness and {\i every} work of faith, with power;
unto the church of God which is at Corinth, {\i even} them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called {\i to be} saints, with all that call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, their {\i Lord} and ours:
Yea, it hath been their good pleasure; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, they owe it {\i to them} also to minister unto them in carnal things.
But if some of the branches were broken off, and thou, being a wild olive, wast grafted in among them, and didst become partaker with them of the root of the fatness of the olive tree;
Then saith he to Thomas, {\cf6 Reach hither thy finger, and see my hands; and reach {\i hither} thy hand, and put it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.}
Therefore, thou son of man, prepare thee stuff for removing, and remove by day in their sight; and thou shalt remove from thy place to another place in their sight: it may be they will consider, though they are a rebellious house.
that they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of Jehovah hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.\par
And the harp and the lute, the tabret and the pipe, and wine, are {\i in} their feasts; but they regard not the work of Jehovah, neither have they considered the operation of his hands.\par
These shall war against the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them, for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings; and they {\i also shall overcome} that are with him, called and chosen and faithful.
that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you also, that ye also may have fellowship with us: yea, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ:
And the God of all grace, who called you unto his eternal glory in Christ, after that ye have suffered a little while, shall himself perfect, establish, strengthen you.
The elders among you I exhort, who am a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, who am also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
But Christ having come a high priest of the good things that are come, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation,
{\i to wit}, that the Gentiles are fellow-heirs, and fellow-members of the body, and fellow-partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,
And in these days Peter stood up in the midst of the brethren, and said (and there was a multitude of persons {\i gathered} together, about a hundred and twenty),
seeing that through the proving {\i of you} by this ministration they glorify God for the obedience of your confession unto the gospel of Christ, and for the liberality of {\i your} contribution unto them and unto all;
For the law appointeth men high priests, having infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was after the law, {\i appointeth} a Son, perfected for evermore.\par
And for this cause he is the mediator of a new covenant, that a death having taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, they that have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
