And every priest indeed standeth day by day ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, the which can never take away sins:

And ye know that he was manifested to take away sins; and in him is no sin.

{\b And this is my covenant unto them,\par\tab When I shall take away their sins.}

Saying above, {\b Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and {\i sacrifices} for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein} (the which are offered according to the law),

which {\i is} a figure for the time present; according to which are offered both gifts and sacrifices that cannot, as touching the conscience, make the worshipper perfect,

On the morrow he seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God, that taketh away the sin of the world!

{\b and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself,} is much more than all whole burnt-offerings and sacrifices.

For I desire goodness, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt-offerings.

For thou delightest not in sacrifice; else would I give it:\par\tab Thou hast no pleasure in burnt-offering.

Take with you words, and return unto Jehovah: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and accept that which is good: so will we render {\i as} bullocks {\i the offering of} our lips.

To what purpose cometh there to me frankincense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt-offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices pleasing unto me.

He that killeth an ox is as he that slayeth a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as he that breaketh a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, {\i as he that offereth} swine's blood; he that burneth frankincense, as he that blesseth an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations:

For the law having a shadow of the good {\i things} to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect them that draw nigh.
