Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, {\i and} to destroy souls, that they may get dishonest gain.

As the partridge that sitteth on {\i eggs} which she hath not laid, so is he that getteth riches, and not by right; in the midst of his days they shall leave him, and at his end he shall be a fool.\par

O inhabitant of Lebanon, that makest thy nest in the cedars, how greatly to be pitied shalt thou be when pangs come upon thee, the pain as of a woman in travail!\par

Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall destroyers come unto her, saith Jehovah.\par
