Thou that art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and that canst not look on perverseness, wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy peace when the wicked swalloweth up the man that is more righteous than he;

For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then will relief and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place, but thou and thy father's house will perish: and who knoweth whether thou art not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

And Jehovah will return his blood upon his own head, because he fell upon two men more righteous and better than he, and slew them with the sword, and my father David knew it not, to wit, Abner the son of Ner, captain of the host of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the host of Judah.

Wherefore do the wicked live,\par\tab Become old, yea, wax mighty in power?

With the pure thou wilt show thyself pure;\par\tab And with the perverse thou wilt show thyself froward.

Yea, none that wait for thee shall be put to shame:\par\tab They shall be put to shame that deal treacherously without cause.

Lord, how long wilt thou look on?\par\tab Rescue my soul from their destructions,\par\tab My darling from the lions.

Let them not say in their heart, Aha, so would we have it:\par\tab Let them not say, We have swallowed him up.

From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs: Glory to the righteous.\par\par\tab But I said, I pine away, I pine away, woe is me! the treacherous have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous have dealt very treacherously.

To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not.

and makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, that have no ruler over them?

and let none of you devise evil in your hearts against his neighbor; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith Jehovah.\par

Thou shalt not deliver unto his master a servant that is escaped from his master unto thee:

{\i God} giveth them to be in security, and they rest thereon;\par\tab And his eyes are upon their ways.
