therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the nations; and I will cut thee off from the peoples, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah.\par

And I will make the land a desolation and an astonishment; and the pride of her power shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, so that none shall pass through.

And I will stretch out my hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, {\i and} the name of the Chemarim with the priests;

Behold, Jehovah maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.

The new wine mourneth, the vine languisheth, all the merry-hearted do sigh.

And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.\par

And I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, saith the Lord Jehovah.\par

I will make thee a perpetual desolation, and thy cities shall not be inhabited; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.\par
