If he beget a son that is a robber, a shedder of blood, and that doeth any one of these things,

He that smiteth a man, so that he dieth, shall surely be put to death.

not as Cain was of the evil one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his works were evil, and his brother's righteous.\par

They cried out therefore again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.\par

Moreover ye shall take no ransom for the life of a murderer, that is guilty of death; but he shall surely be put to death.

Thou shalt not oppress thy neighbor, nor rob him: the wages of a hired servant shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.

If the thief be found breaking in, and be smitten so that he dieth, there shall be no bloodguiltiness for him.

hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept mine ordinances, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord Jehovah.\par

and that doeth not any of those {\i duties}, but even hath eaten upon the mountains, and defiled his neighbor's wife,

Ephraim hath provoked to anger most bitterly: therefore shall his blood be left upon him, and his reproach shall his Lord return unto him.\par
