but when {\i the matter} came before the king, he commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he had devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.\par

In that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, shall the nail that was fastened in a sure place give way; and it shall be hewn down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off; for Jehovah hath spoken it.\par

And when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, Blessed be Jehovah, that hath pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and hath kept back his servant from evil: and the evil-doing of Nabal hath Jehovah returned upon his own head. And David sent and spake concerning Abigail, to take her to him to wife.

then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his own head, and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified.\par

I will give thanks unto Jehovah according to his righteousness,\par\tab And will sing praise to the name of Jehovah Most High.\par

And he hath brought upon them their own iniquity,\par\tab And will cut them off in their own wickedness;\par\tab Jehovah our God will cut them off.\par

His own iniquities shall take the wicked,\par\tab And he shall be holden with the cords of his sin.

Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein;\par\tab And he that rolleth a stone, it shall return upon him.

For the day of Jehovah is near upon all the nations: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee; thy dealing shall return upon thine own head.
