Esther 9:1

Now in the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king's commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, on the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have rule over them (whereas it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated them,)

And letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to slay, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth {\i day} of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey.

And the nations were wroth, and thy wrath came, and the time of the dead to be judged, and {\i the time} to give their reward to thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and to them that fear thy name, the small and the great; and to destroy them that destroy the earth.\par

Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing;\par\tab Thou hast loosed my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a truth, that the Lord hath sent forth his angel and delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

{\i This was done} on the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of the same they rested, and made it a day of feasting and gladness.

In the first month, which is the month Nisan, in the twelfth year of king Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that is, the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, {\i to} the twelfth {\i month}, which is the month Adar.

Thou hast also made mine enemies turn their backs unto me, That I might cut off them that hate me.

For Jehovah will judge his people, And repent himself for his servants; When he seeth that their power is gone, And there is none remaining, shut up or left at large.

for how can I endure to see the evil that shall come unto my people? or how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred?
