Wisdom is as good as an inheritance; yea, more excellent is it for them that see the sun.

Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun.

Then I saw that wisdom excelleth folly, as far as light excelleth darkness.

Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not inquire wisely concerning this.\par

But where shall wisdom be found?\par\tab And where is the place of understanding?

The law of thy mouth is better unto me\par\tab Than thousands of gold and silver.\par

For the gaining of it is better than the gaining of silver,\par\tab And the profit thereof than fine gold.

She is more precious than rubies:\par\tab And none of the things thou canst desire are to be compared unto her.

The crown of the wise is their riches;\par\tab {\i But} the folly of fools is {\i only} folly.
