And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the striving of the children of Israel, and because they tempted Jehovah, saying, Is Jehovah among us, or not?

And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim; and they shall be upon Aaron's heart, when he goeth in before Jehovah: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his heart before Jehovah continually.

These are the waters of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with Jehovah, and he was sanctified in them.

And he placed the breastplate upon him: and in the breastplate he put the Urim and the Thummim.

Ye shall not tempt Jehovah your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.

The law of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many away from iniquity.

And concerning the cities which ye shall give of the possession of the children of Israel, from the many ye shall take many; and from the few ye shall take few: every one according to his inheritance which he inheriteth shall give of his cities unto the Levites.

And at Taberah, and at Massah, and at Kibroth-hattaavah, ye provoked Jehovah to wrath.
