therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies that Jehovah shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.

And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore hath Jehovah our God done all these things unto us? then shalt thou say unto them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served foreign gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours.\par

I was wroth with my people, I profaned mine inheritance, and gave them into thy hand: thou didst show them no mercy; upon the aged hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.

Nevertheless they shall be his servants, that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.\par

They shall be wasted with hunger, and devoured with burning heat And bitter destruction; And the teeth of beasts will I send upon them, With the poison of crawling things of the dust.

When thy people Israel are smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee; if they turn again to thee, and confess thy name, and pray and make supplication unto thee in this house:

The tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for thirst:\par\tab The young children ask bread, and no man breaketh it unto them.

and they shall deal with thee in hatred, and shall take away all thy labor, and shall leave thee naked and bare; and the nakedness of thy whoredoms shall be uncovered, both thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.\par

Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks, neither shall ye walk haughtily; for it is an evil time.

Judah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude;\par\tab She dwelleth among the nations, she findeth no rest:\par\tab All her persecutors overtook her within the straits.

The yoke of my transgressions is bound by his hand;\par\tab They are knit together, they are come up upon my neck; he hath made my strength to fail:\par\tab The Lord hath delivered me into their hands, against whom I am not able to stand.
