and thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and robbed alway, and there shall be none to save thee.

We grope for the wall like the blind; yea, we grope as they that have no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the twilight; among them that are lusty we are as dead men.

For this our heart is faint;\par\tab For these things our eyes are dim;

Servants rule over us:\par\tab There is none to deliver us out of their hand.

They grope in the dark without light;\par\tab And he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.\par

And it yieldeth much increase unto the kings whom thou hast set over us because of our sins: also they have power over our bodies, and over our cattle, at their pleasure, and we are in great distress.

And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

And Jehovah said unto Moses, Stretch out thy hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.

Jehovah will smite thee with madness, and with blindness, and with astonishment of heart;

For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we ruined! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because they have cast down our dwellings.

They wander as blind men in the streets, they are polluted with blood,\par\tab So that men cannot touch their garments.
