Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and {\i the} Saviour Jesus Christ:
But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written, {\b I believed, and therefore did I speak}; we also believe, and therefore also we speak;
whereby he hath granted unto us his precious and exceeding great promises; that through these ye may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust.\par
The elders among you I exhort, who am a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, who am also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
having been reminded of the unfeigned faith that is in thee; which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and, I am persuaded, in thee also.
and be found in him, not having a righteousness of mine own, {\i even} that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith:
Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; and James the {\i son} of Zebedee, and John his brother;
For you therefore that believe is the preciousness: but for such as disbelieve,\par\tab {\b The stone which the builders rejected,\par\tab The same was made the head of the corner};
that the proof of your faith, {\i being} more precious than gold that perisheth though it is proved by fire, may be found unto praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ:
Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,
He brought him unto Jesus. Jesus looked upon him, and said, {\cf6 Thou art Simon the son of John: thou shalt be called Cephas} (which is by interpretation, Peter).\par
And walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brethren, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishers.
In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely; and this is {\i the name} whereby she shall be called: Jehovah our righteousness.
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for Jehovah, {\i even} Jehovah, is my strength and song; and he is become my salvation.
