Thus saith Jehovah: Cursed is the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from Jehovah.

Ye shall not need to fight in this {\i battle}: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of Jehovah with you, O Judah and Jerusalem; fear not, nor be dismayed: to-morrow go out against them: for Jehovah is with you.

And, behold, God is with us at our head, and his priests with the trumpets of alarm to sound an alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against Jehovah, the God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.\par

for Jehovah your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

Beware lest Hezekiah persuade you, saying, Jehovah will deliver us. Hath any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?

Take counsel together, and it shall be brought to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

Now therefore let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you after this manner, neither believe ye him; for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of my hand, and out of the hand of my fathers: how much less shall your God deliver you out of my hand?\par

And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because Jehovah, the God of Israel, fought for Israel.

It is better to take refuge in Jehovah\par\tab Than to put confidence in man.

He trusted in Jehovah, the God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor among them that were before him.

Then Asa went out to meet him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.

And every stroke of the appointed staff, which Jehovah shall lay upon him, shall be with {\i the sound of} tabrets and harps; and in battles with the brandishing {\i of his arm} will he fight with them.

Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit: and when Jehovah shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall stumble, and he that is helped shall fall, and they all shall be consumed together.\par
