He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he opened not his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.

Wherefore let them also that suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well-doing unto a faithful Creator.\par

For consider him that hath endured such gainsaying of sinners against himself, that ye wax not weary, fainting in your souls.

Commit thy way unto Jehovah;\par\tab Trust also in him, and he will bring it to pass.

And now, Lord, look upon their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants to speak thy word with all boldness,

henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give to me at that day; and not to me only, but also to all them that have loved his appearing.\par

For which cause I suffer also these things: yet I am not ashamed; for I know him whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to guard that which I have committed unto him against that day.

And Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, {\cf6 Father, {\b into thy hands I commend my spirit}:} and having said this, he gave up the ghost.

Into thy hand I commend my spirit:\par\tab Thou hast redeemed me, O Jehovah, thou God of truth.

Thou hast seen {\i it}; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand:\par\tab The helpless committeth {\i himself} unto thee;\par\tab Thou hast been the helper of the fatherless.

And I saw the heaven opened; and behold, a white horse, and he that sat thereon is called Faithful and True; and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling; but contrariwise blessing; for hereunto were ye called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

{\i which is} a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God; to the end that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, and forbear threatening: knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no respect of persons with him.\par

but after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up for thyself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

inasmuch as he hath appointed a day in which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.\par

But Saul, yet breathing threatening and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

And he questioned him in many words; but he answered him nothing.

Before Jehovah; for he cometh,\par\tab For he cometh to judge the earth:\par\tab He will judge the world with righteousness,\par\tab And the peoples with his truth.\par

God is a righteous judge,\par\tab Yea, a God that hath indignation every day.

That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked, that so the righteous should be as the wicked; that be far from thee: shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

And they stoned Stephen, calling upon {\i the Lord}, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
