But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper-tree: and he requested for himself that he might die, and said, It is enough; now, O Jehovah, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.

And he lay down and slept under a juniper-tree; and, behold, an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.

Even that it would please God to crush me;\par\tab That he would let loose his hand, and cut me off!

And if I say, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name, then there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with forbearing, and I cannot {\i contain}.

Oh that I might have my request;\par\tab And that God would grant {\i me} the thing that I long for!
