And again, Isaiah saith,\par\tab {\b There shall be the root of Jesse,\par\tab And he that ariseth to rule over the Gentiles;\par\tab On him shall the Gentiles hope.}
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the root of Jesse, that standeth for an ensign of the peoples, unto him shall the nations seek; and his resting-place shall be glorious.\par
And Jehovah said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from being king over Israel? fill thy horn with oil, and go: I will send thee to Jesse the Beth-lehemite; for I have provided me a king among his sons.
And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king; to whom also he bare witness and said, {\b I have found David} the son of Jesse, {\b a man after my heart,} who shall do all my will.
