I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon the rock.

Or darkness, so that thou canst not see, And abundance of waters cover thee.

I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; The earth with its bars closed upon me for ever: Yet hast thou brought up my life from the pit, O Jehovah my God.
