Wherefore hidest thou thy face, And holdest me for thine enemy?

And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: For they are a very perverse generation, Children in whom is no faithfulness.

Forget not the voice of thine adversaries: The tumult of those that rise up against thee ascendeth continually.

Oh deliver not the soul of thy turtle-dove unto the wild beast: Forget not the life of thy poor for ever.

I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou forget me for ever? How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

He saith in his heart: God hath forgotten; He hideth his face, he will never see it.

Why standest thou afar off, O Jehovah? Why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

Stir up thyself, and awake to the justice due unto me, Even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of Jehovah; awake, as in the days of old, the generations of ancient times. Is it not thou that didst cut Rahab in pieces, that didst pierce the monster?
