Because of the oppression of the poor, because of the sighing of the needy, Now will I arise, saith Jehovah; I will set him in the safety he panteth for.

This poor man cried, and Jehovah heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.

He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker; But he that hath mercy on the needy honoreth him.

Behold, the hire of the laborers who mowed your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth out: and the cries of them that reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.

Now will I arise, saith Jehovah; now will I lift up myself; now will I be exalted.

But he saveth from the sword of their mouth, Even the needy from the hand of the mighty.

Arise, O Jehovah; O God, lift up thy hand: Forget not the poor.

Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue; Neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.

And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto Jehovah of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they shall cry unto Jehovah because of oppressors, and he will send them a saviour, and a defender, and he will deliver them.

As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, robbed his brother, and did that which is not good among his people, behold, he shall die in his iniquity.

If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and the violent taking away of justice and righteousness in a province, marvel not at the matter: for one higher than the high regardeth; and there are higher than they.

Then I returned and saw all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and, behold, the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.

To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, That man who is of the earth may be terrible no more.

His ways are firm at all times; Thy judgments are far above out of his sight: As for all his adversaries, he puffeth at them.

And they put away the foreign gods from among them, and served Jehovah; and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

And Pharaoh said, Who is Jehovah, that I should hearken unto his voice to let Israel go? I know not Jehovah, and moreover I will not let Israel go.

Oh how great is thy goodness, Which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee, Which thou hast wrought for them that take refuge in thee, Before the sons of men!

They scoff, and in wickedness utter oppression: They speak loftily.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue; And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

They return, but not to him that is on high; they are like a deceitful bow; their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.
