Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings, Like an eagle that flieth toward heaven.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the vainglory of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Charge them that are rich in this present world, that they be not highminded, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal:

Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

He lieth down rich, but he shall not be gathered to his fathers; He openeth his eyes, and he is not.

Take him, and look well to him, and do him no harm; but do unto him even as he shall say unto thee.
