The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becomes holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

That you receive her in the Lord, as becomes saints, and that you assist her in whatever business she has need of you: for she has been a succorer of many, and of myself also.

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becomes saints;

Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

Likewise must the deacons be grave, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for your stomach's sake and your often infirmities.

For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

For when for the time you ought to be teachers, you have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

Notwithstanding I have a few things against you, because you suffer that woman Jezebel, which calls herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.
