What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

But the scripture has concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

Which say, Stand by yourself, come not near to me; for I am holier than you. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burns all the day.

For God has concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy on all.

Now we know that what things soever the law said, it said to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretense, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yes, and will rejoice.

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continues not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?

For who makes you to differ from another? and what have you that you did not receive? now if you did receive it, why do you glory, as if you had not received it?

What then? Israel has not obtained that which he seeks for; but the election has obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who takes vengeance? (I speak as a man)

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spoke within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that touches him: for she is a sinner.

Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?

Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are that judge: for wherein you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you that judge do the same things.

What advantage then has the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?

For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
