Or he that exhorts, on exhortation: he that gives, let him do it with simplicity; he that rules, with diligence; he that shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring on Abraham that which he has spoken of him.

He has dispersed, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honor.

The wicked borrows, and pays not again: but the righteous shows mercy, and gives.

He that has a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he gives of his bread to the poor.

In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening withhold not your hand: for you know not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, where you go.

The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful.

But the liberal devises liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.

You meet him that rejoices and works righteousness, those that remember you in your ways: behold, you are wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved.

And the King shall answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you have done it to one of the least of these my brothers, you have done it to me.

Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would hold to the Lord.

Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.

And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, You men and brothers, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.

And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brothers with many words, and confirmed them.

And when he had gone over those parts, and had given them much exhortation, he came into Greece,

Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost has made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he has purchased with his own blood.

And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,

Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

For for this cause pay you tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually on this very thing.

And God has set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

But he that prophesies speaks to men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man has, and not according to that he has not.

Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causes through us thanksgiving to God.

Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution to them, and to all men;

Every man according as he purposes in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver.

Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ;

You shall furnish him liberally out of your flock, and out of your floor, and out of your wine press: of that with which the LORD your God has blessed you you shall give to him.

And you shall rejoice before the LORD your God, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite that is within your gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which the LORD your God has chosen to place his name there.

Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eye-service, as men pleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;

For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:

So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted to you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because you were dear to us.

Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine.

That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching.

Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

And I beseech you, brothers, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter to you in few words.

Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.

Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken to you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
