I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come to the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.

Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? said the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dies, said the Lord GOD: why turn yourselves, and live you.

Say to them, As I live, said the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn you, turn you from your evil ways; for why will you die, O house of Israel?

He shall come and destroy these farmers, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.

And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles sought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said to them, Your blood be on your own heads; I am clean; from now on I will go to the Gentiles.

But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses said, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.

I say then, Has God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fullness?

If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.

Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
