But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses said, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.

Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.

But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities.

And I will sow her to me in the earth; and I will have mercy on her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, You are my people; and they shall say, You are my God.

But I say, Have they not heard? Yes truly, their sound went into all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.

I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come to the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.

If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.

To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believes in Jesus.

Now this I say, that every one of you said, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?

What? have you not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise you the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.

You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, even as you were led.

Now this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption.

But this I say, brothers, the time is short: it remains, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;

They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
