Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Who shall not fear you, O Lord, and glorify your name? for you only are holy: for all nations shall come and worship before you; for your judgments are made manifest.

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;

So I gave them up to their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come to you from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.

Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back always.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God has showed it to them.

And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to you among the Gentiles, and sing to your name.

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them:

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Why I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live;

That I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.
