You carry them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which grows up.
The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:

They are passed away as the swift ships: as the eagle that hastens to the prey.
They are destroyed from morning to evening: they perish for ever without any regarding it.
My age is departed, and is removed from me as a shepherd's tent: I have cut off like a weaver my life: he will cut me off with pining sickness: from day even to night will you make an end of me.
I reckoned till morning, that, as a lion, so will he break all my bones: from day even to night will you make an end of me.
The grass wither, the flower fades: because the spirit of the LORD blows on it: surely the people is grass.
