Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yes, let him tread down my life on the earth, and lay my honor in the dust. Selah.

Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.

Through you will we push down our enemies: through your name will we tread them under that rise up against us.

Nevertheless man being in honor stays not: he is like the beasts that perish.

And they shall be as mighty men, which tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle: and they shall fight, because the LORD is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.

And you shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, said the LORD of hosts.

Moreover, my father, see, yes, see the skirt of your robe in my hand: for in that I cut off the skirt of your robe, and killed you not, know you and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in my hand, and I have not sinned against you; yet you hunt my soul to take it.

And you have showed this day how that you have dealt well with me: for as much as when the LORD had delivered me into your hand, you killed me not.

And now, behold, I know well that you shall surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established in your hand.
