And Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things wherein the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.

He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.

His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire on his enemies.

See, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.

Shall they escape by iniquity? in your anger cast down the people, O God.

Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart on them.

The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.

He that trusts in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.

Will you set your eyes on that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.

Thus said the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:

And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labors they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.

And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answers again, and said to them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!

And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have much goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy;
