You shall hide them in the secret of your presence from the pride of man: you shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
You shall be hid from the whip of the tongue: neither shall you be afraid of destruction when it comes.
The wicked in his pride does persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
Deal with your servant according to your mercy, and teach me your statutes.
Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.
The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up on a rock.
You are my hiding place; you shall preserve me from trouble; you shall compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.
Your righteousness is like the great mountains; your judgments are a great deep: O LORD, you preserve man and beast.
They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of your house; and you shall make them drink of the river of your pleasures.
Blessed is that man that makes the LORD his trust, and respects not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
Be you exalted, O God, above the heavens: let your glory be above all the earth.
O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set you before them.
Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly he was above them.
Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found to you such as you would not: lest there be debates, contentions, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, arrogance, tumults:
Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, jealousies, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof comes envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
But he gives more grace. Why he said, God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
