If you prepare your heart, and stretch out your hands toward him;

As a servant earnestly desires the shadow, and as an hireling looks for the reward of his work:

My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say to me, Where is your God?

If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;

O God, you are my God; early will I seek you: my soul thirsts for you, my flesh longs for you in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh cries out for the living God.

Will you show wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise you? Selah.

My eye mourns by reason of affliction: LORD, I have called daily on you, I have stretched out my hands to you.

And Moses said to him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands to the LORD; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that you may know how that the earth is the LORD's.

And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come to me, and drink.
