Psalm 137:3

For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.

And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bore the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: David also had on him an ephod of linen.

Then on that day David delivered first this psalm to thank the LORD into the hand of Asaph and his brothers.

And he spoke before his brothers and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned?

Praise waits for you, O God, in Sion: and to you shall the vow be performed.

O God, the heathen are come into your inheritance; your holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps.

You make us a strife to our neighbors: and our enemies laugh among themselves.

That I may show forth all your praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in your salvation.

As he that takes away a garment in cold weather, and as vinegar on nitre, so is he that singes songs to an heavy heart.

And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy on their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing to Zion; and everlasting joy shall be on their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

Micah the Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus said the LORD of hosts; Zion shall be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.

And I will make Jerusalem heaps, and a den of dragons; and I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant.

Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.

As for these things which you behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone on another, that shall not be thrown down.
