This is my comfort in my affliction: for your word has quickened me.

My soul sticks to the dust: quicken you me according to your word.

Establish your word to your servant, who is devoted to your fear.

Let your mercies come also to me, O LORD, even your salvation, according to your word.

Unless your law had been my delights, I should then have perished in my affliction.

Though I walk in the middle of trouble, you will revive me: you shall stretch forth your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand shall save me.

So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up on their feet, an exceeding great army.

It is the spirit that vivifies; the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak to you, they are spirit, and they are life.

For whatever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again to a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
