You have seen it; for you behold mischief and spite, to requite it with your hand: the poor commits himself to you; you are the helper of the fatherless.

A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

God sets the solitary in families: he brings out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

And God looked on the children of Israel, and God had respect to them.

You shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.

If you at all take your neighbor's raiment to pledge, you shall deliver it to him by that the sun goes down:

The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.

The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

And what will you do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will you flee for help? and where will you leave your glory?

He does execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loves the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.

For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed to him against that day.

Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

Why let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as to a faithful Creator.

Casting all your care on him; for he cares for you.

And Adonibezek said, Three score and ten kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their meat under my table: as I have done, so God has requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.
