For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

But he refused, and said to his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand;

Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.

The entrance of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.

Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.

The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

He is in the way of life that keeps instruction: but he that refuses reproof errs.

The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.

The ear that hears the reproof of life stays among the wise.

The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself brings his mother to shame.

She is a tree of life to them that lay hold on her: and happy is every one that retains her.

Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is your life.

He taught me also, and said to me, Let your heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.

And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;

And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoever pleases God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her.

It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.

To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

And to this people you shall say, Thus said the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.

And I gave them my statutes, and showed them my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them.

You shall not hate your brother in your heart: you shall in any wise rebuke your neighbor, and not suffer sin on him.

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto you do well that you take heed, as to a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

Remember therefore from where you are fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come to you quickly, and will remove your candlestick out of his place, except you repent.
