My son, if you be surety for your friend, if you have stricken your hand with a stranger,
I will be surety for him; of my hand shall you require him: if I bring him not to you, and set him before you, then let me bear the blame for ever:
Lay down now, put me in a surety with you; who is he that will strike hands with me?
He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hates indebtedness is sure.
A man void of understanding strikes hands, and becomes surety in the presence of his friend.
Take his garment that is surety for a stranger: and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
Be not you one of them that strike hands, or of them that are sureties for debts.
Take his garment that is surety for a stranger, and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
You are snared with the words of your mouth, you are taken with the words of your mouth.
Therefore you have forsaken your people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.
By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
