My son, if you will receive my words, and hide my commandments with you;
My son, forget not my law; but let your heart keep my commandments:
To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
Hear, you children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with you.
Bind them continually on your heart, and tie them about your neck.
Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of your life shall be many.
But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like to treasure hid in a field; the which when a man has found, he hides, and for joy thereof goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field.
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.
And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to wisdom.
Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it to us, that we may hear it, and do it?
Does not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
Wisdom has built her house, she has hewn out her seven pillars:
Whoever keeps the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shames his father.
