And it came to pass the same day, that Isaac's servants came, and told him concerning the well which they had dig, and said to him, We have found water.

They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;

He becomes poor that deals with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent makes rich.

The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that waters shall be watered also himself.

He that tills his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that follows vain persons is void of understanding.

The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.

The slothful man roasts not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.

He that keeps his mouth keeps his life: but he that opens wide his lips shall have destruction.

A righteous man hates lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and comes to shame.

The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.

The desire of the slothful kills him; for his hands refuse to labor.

The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenty; but of every one that is hasty only to want.

I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

And, see, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.

The slothful man said, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.

He that is of a proud heart stirs up strife: but he that puts his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:

Blessed is the man that hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them?

And the LORD shall guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and make fat your bones: and you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his!

Labor not for the meat which perishes, but for that meat which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give to you: for him has God the Father sealed.

And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope to the end:

And they returned to Joshua, and said to him, Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai; and make not all the people to labor thither; for they are but few.
