The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

Then sat Solomon on the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was established greatly.

And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him: and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league together.

Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.

And of all my sons, (for the LORD has given me many sons,) he has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel.

Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.

And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor: and Solomon his son reigned in his stead.

The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.

That I might make you know the certainty of the words of truth; that you might answer the words of truth to them that send to you?

These are also proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out.

And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yes, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.

These things have I spoken to you in proverbs: but the time comes, when I shall no more speak to you in proverbs, but I shall show you plainly of the Father.
