For indeed he was sick near to death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow on sorrow.

In those days was Hezekiah sick to death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said to him, Thus said the LORD, Set your house in order; for you shall die, and not live.

He shall deliver you in six troubles: yes, in seven there shall no evil touch you.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivers him out of them all.

In measure, when it shoots forth, you will debate with it: he stays his rough wind in the day of the east wind.

When I would comfort myself against sorrow, my heart is faint in me.

O LORD, I have heard your speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive your work in the middle of the years, in the middle of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.

And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.

There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.

So that contrariwise you ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.

For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that you had heard that he had been sick.

I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when you see him again, you may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.

Because for the work of Christ he was near to death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.
