Now if Timotheus come, see that he may be with you without fear: for he works the work of the Lord, as I also do.

For this cause have I sent to you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.

For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether you be obedient in all things.

And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have oftentimes proved diligent in many things, but now much more diligent, on the great confidence which I have in you.

Why show you to them, and before the churches, the proof of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf.

I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.

But I would you should understand, brothers, that the things which happened to me have fallen out rather to the furtherance of the gospel;

The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:

For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;

Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers of my grace.

For I have no man like minded, who will naturally care for your state.

This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on you, that you by them might war a good warfare;

To Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

If you put the brothers in remembrance of these things, you shall be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto you have attained.

To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

But you have fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, long-suffering, charity, patience,

To Titus, my own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.
