Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the LORD.

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem.

Blessed be the LORD God of our fathers, which has put such a thing as this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem:

Then the king said to me, For what do you make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.

See, all these things works God oftentimes with man,

Your people shall be willing in the day of your power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: you have the dew of your youth.

Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to covetousness.

Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practice wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.

The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turns it wherever he will.

LORD, you will ordain peace for us: for you also have worked all our works in us.

But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, said the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:

Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that has heard, and has learned of the Father, comes to me.

And he said, Therefore said I to you, that no man can come to me, except it were given to him of my Father.

And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned to the Lord.

For I say, through the grace given to me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith.

(For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calls;)

So then it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy.

And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which works all in all.

But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed on me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his own will:

Having predestinated us to the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

Having made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he has purposed in himself:

For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Why also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:

Who has saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again to a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
