That he would grant to us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,

Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:

Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.

Why I desire that you faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers of my grace.

Therefore, my brothers dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.

That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.

All my state shall Tychicus declare to you, who is a beloved brother, and a faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord:

But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as you know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak to you the gospel of God with much contention.

Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even to bonds; but the word of God is not bound.
