Hear you, O mountains, the LORD's controversy, and you strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD has a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.

And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.

When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

Come now, and let us reason together, said the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

The LORD stands up to plead, and stands to judge the people.

Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare you, that you may be justified.

And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, between me and my vineyard.

Why I will yet plead with you, said the LORD, and with your children's children will I plead.

A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD has a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, said the LORD.

Thus said the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, said the LORD.

The LORD has also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him.

He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:

Hear the word of the LORD, you children of Israel: for the LORD has a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

Hear you now what the LORD said; Arise, contend you before the mountains, and let the hills hear your voice.

For a fire is kindled in my anger, and shall burn to the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that you shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto you go over Jordan to possess it; you shall not prolong your days on it, but shall utterly be destroyed.
